THANK YOU
FOR STOPPING BY

Hi! I'm Victoria, the face behind Corner Oak Soap Co.

My husband, two children and I live on our little slice of heaven in Southern Wisconsin. I spent my childhood exploring the outdoors, on farms with my dad's vet clients and raising all sorts of animals. I've always loved anything mother nature allows me to experience. My ideal day is spent in our yard, harvesting flowers & veggies, milking my goats and enjoying this slow life with my family that I’m so grateful to experience.

I made my first batch of goat milk soap in hopes to formulate a non-toxic soap for my family. After a few trials and errors with recipes, I fell in love with the whole process, and so did my kids. It's a family affair! It became my little hobby & I started to share with family and friends. They all came back for more!

& now I’m here – sharing my handmade goodness with you.

OUR HOMESTEAD

In addition to our goats, we also enjoy spending time with our flock of chickens, 3 dogs and working in our garden.

My garden is where half the magic happens - countless veggies & fruit are grown there as well as all my herbs and flowers that I add into my products.

Every day brings the joy of caring for our animals, growing our food, and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. It’s a rewarding lifestyle that keeps us grounded & reminds us of the simple, meaningful things in life.

We sometimes have fresh eggs available for local customers - limited quantity. Click our logo below if you would like to check availability!

THE STARS OF THE SHOW

We have a tiny herd of ladies. They are the workhorses of this little business, providing fresh milk for my products daily. They enjoy basking in the sun, munching on weeds and going for walks with us throughout their pasture.

We love them!

OUR NAME

Coming up with our name was easy. When purchasing our land the first thing that stood out was a huge white oak tree in the corner of the old pasture. To me, this oak tree was a symbol of strength, stability and a connection with nature. What better symbol for our homestead and soap business. Just as how our oak tree has natural simplicity and resilience, our goat milk soap reflects these qualities with its pure, simple, nourishing qualities. Take a peek of our namesake oak tree above in one of our pictures.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

All my soaps/products are free from chemicals, artificial fragrances, dyes and preservatives. Every bar is hand mixed, poured, cut and cured with natural oils, fresh milk & flowers/herbs from my garden. My base recipe took over a year to perfect! I wanted it just right. You'll see all ingredients listed in each listing & on every product so there's no guessing what you're putting on your skin. In a world of artificial, ultra-processed everything, I like to believe my products offer a small return to simplicity.

Slow, simple and pure is how we like it over here.

OUR PROCESS

To properly make cold process soap, you need sodium hydroxide (also known as lye), fats (the nourishing oils in my recipe) and a liquid (our goat milk). Sodium hydroxide is a strong alkali used to make soap by reacting with oils or fats in a process called saponification. Saponification is the chemical reaction between fats, oils and sodium hydroxide that produces soap and glycerol. As I'm mixing the sodium hydroxide, oils and milk together, the sodium hydroxide completely reacts with the triglycerides in the fats, breaking them down into soap molecules (fatty acid salts) and glycerol. Because all the sodium hydroxide is consumed in the reaction, it no longer remains in the finished soap. Instead, it creates soap and glycerin, both of which are safe and beneficial for the skin.

After saponification (when everything is mixed together and poured into molds), I cut the soaps and cure them for 5+ weeks as part of the cold-process method; ensuring all the oils and butters within keep their beneficial properties & moisture has evaporated. This results are a nourishing, creamy soap bar.

The long wait is worth it, I promise!
